Veidemann Sailing

Veidemann sailing is a micro sailing company consisting of one boat and a tiny core team.

Our most sailed trip is our day tour in Kaldfjord, but we can also offer a range of expeditions in the North-east Atlantic on demand.

The name Veidemann means traveling gatherer, like a huntsman or fisherman. But Veidemann was also the name of my great grandfathers cutter that he acquired under the great depression. He used it for fishing, trade and occasionally even smuggling alcohol. Times were hard and he had to do what he could to provide for his family on the island called Gåsøya far out in the North Sea off the coast of Trøndelag. The boat was later inherited by my grandfather and it was navigated from Germany in the South to the far Arctic in the North.

Therefore we found it fitting to reuse Veidemann as our company name as our team members are Norwegians from coastal families with longstanding maritime traditions in their blood. Our passion is sharing and teaching our knowledge and stories of a people living at the mercy of the North East Atlantic in good and bad times.

Join us for an unforgettable adventure and help keep coastal traditions alive!
